International flights land at Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), just outside Belize City. Few of the resorts we cover are a simple drive from there, so plan the last leg before you book.
Ambergris Caye: a short flight to San Pedro
Alaia Belize is about 5 minutes from John Greif II Airport (SPR) in San Pedro. Reef Haven sits north of town and is reached by boat, about 30 minutes from the San Pedro airstrip.
Private islands near Belize City
Shaka Caye is a private island reached by boat from Belize City, about 35 minutes each way.
The southern cayes: fly to Dangriga, then a boat
Thatch Caye and Blue Marlin Beach Resort on South Water Caye are reached by boat from Dangriga, which has a domestic airstrip (DGA). The boat ride is about 25 to 40 minutes.
Hopkins and Placencia: on the mainland coast
Belizean Dreams in Hopkins is about 45 minutes by road from Dangriga airstrip. Laru Beya and Sirenian Bay are a few minutes from Placencia Airport (PLJ). Some packages include a shuttle from Belize City instead, so check what your rate covers.
